If you know me, you know I love monsters. Like, really love them. Like, the first time I ever saw the very first teaser for Godzilla that came out in 2014, I knew immediately what it was, and when I heard his roar, it sent shivers down my spine and was one of the happiest days of my life. One of my first crushes was Creature, from The Creature from the Black Lagoon. Everyone in my life knew where to find me on Saturdays: in front of the TV, watching Creature Double Feature on Channel 56, where they showed all the classic monster movies, featuring fellows like Godzilla, Rodan, Gamera, Mothra, and more. As an adult, I had to kind of tone down my monster love a bit, until I hit my 30s and decided I didn’t care anymore—life’s not worth living unless you’re surrounded by those you love, right? I met monster artist Bob Eggleton and his wife Marianne Plumridge several years ago at my first Boskone, and became fast friends with them both, and have several prints of their artwork in my home. I’m planning some tattoos for the future as well…
Anyway, I digress. Today is a special day because we are treated to the final trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters! The movie comes out on May 31st, and will be in IMAX theaters. When you watch this trailer, you can almost feel your butt vibrating to that full IMAX experience. I can’t wait!
Hope you enjoy the show!
