For the past few weeks, I've been noticing a few authors using #OperationBlueMilk on Twitter. It certainly piqued my curiosity. What was it going to be? A cookbook full of nutritious bantha milk smoothies, perhaps?
Nope, it's even better! Del Rey Books announced today that they are releasing a new anthology in October called Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View! This anthology will feature stories from some really awesome authors that focus on the secondary characters of Star Wars. So if you are like me, and have favorite bounty hunters or X-Wing pilots, maybe an unsung Jedi or a Storm Trooper, they might finally have a chance to shine in their very own story.
Authors include many familiar names, even some past Once and Future Podcast guests like Delilah S. Dawson, Chuck Wendig, Mur Lafferty, Christie Golden, Daniel Jose Older, and more! And one of the really awesome parts of this project is that all authors have forgone compensation for their stories. Instead, all the proceeds from sales are going to be donated to First Book, a charity that gives books and educational materials to children in need. Penguin Random House will also be donating an additional $100,000, and LucasArts/Disney will be giving 100,000 childrens' books to the organization as well.
Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View is now available for pre-order, so you can get it delivered to you right on release day!
