I divide my drinking time pretty evenly between coffee and tea these days, and I'm always on the lookout for some delicious tea to drink while I'm writing or reading. I received some samples from Plum Deluxe teas a few weeks ago, and here's my take:
1. Deluxe Autumn Chai: I am kind of particular about my chai. So many have an artificial flavor to them, or else the blend of spices is such that there is a burn rather than just the spicy warmth. I thought this chai blend was amazing and smooth. Just the right amount of spice and it was perfect to welcome in the chilly nights of fall. I drank it with a touch of raw sugar and milk.
2. Peace Herbal Tea: I have to be honest, I'm not HUGELY into herbal tea. Sometimes things like chamomile bother my stomach, and I haven't been impressed with some blends. The flavors are often weak. So I had my doubts about this tea, especially since it was called "peace." Boy was I wrong AND impressed. This is an herbal tea, but it also has a bit of spice to it. Not a ton, but just enough to make it interesting, which was exactly what I craved. And the experience of drinking it was indeed peaceful.
3. Garden Grove Green Tea: Green tea blends can sometimes be bitter, OR they have too much of whatever they are blended with for the drinker to really be able to enjoy the flavor of the tea itself. This blend had the perfect amount of high quality green tea leaves with jasmine and cherry blossoms, two of my favorite green tea supplements. It's a wonderful, smooth mix that was a pleasure to drink.
Plum Deluxe has a monthly tea club where subscribers get a special hand-crafted tea that is blended for subscribers only. There is enough for about 20 cups of tea, so it's not a skimpy amount, and you'll also get a sample of one other tea, plus access to tea forums where you can talk with other tea addicts!
Plum Deluxe also sells tea by the ounce on their website, and have a large assortment to choose from. I personally can't wait to try the Spicy Caramel Apple Cinnamon tea, and the Stargazer Caramel Mate Chai. I highly recommend!
