Doing things a trailer can, all right! After seeing this last night, I am seriously stoked about this movie!
Unlike the previous incarnations of the Spider-Man franchise, I really feel like Sony/Marvel has managed to capture the essence of the Spider-Man that I love. The attitude, the fun, plus with a little Tony Stark to add flavor. And of course all the action, adventure, and flying monster guys we've come to expect from a Marvel movie.
It seems like there is something for everyone here, which of course, should be the goal of every trailer, to attract as many people to see the movie as possible. It seems this trailer has achieved the balancing act incredibly well, though, and I can see teens and adults, guys and gals alike being psyched to see this. The cast seems pleasantly diverse, and while we see fledgling Spidey dealing with some teen angst, it doesn't seem heavy-handed, which was a critique I had of some of the other movie treatments of Spider-Man. But of course, this is just the first full-length trailer. We'll have to wait until July 2017 to find out how good it is for sure!
