OoooooOOOOOoooo! Grab your piles of gold and dive in, kids! Disney has announced that the reboot of their beloved cartoon from the later 80s, DuckTales, will premiere in summer of 2017.
DuckTales originally premiered in 1987, and was part of the Disney Afternoon series of cartoons that kids could watch after they got home from school. Fans of the old version will be happy to hear that Disney plans on keeping the original animation style of the original show, and the show will feature the ever-wealthy Scrooge McDuck, along with his nephew Donald Duck and HIS nephews (Scrooge's grandnephews) Huey, Louie, and Dewey. This time around, there will be a stronger role in the show for ducklette Webbigail “Webby” Vanderquack (the granddaughter of Scrooge’s maid, Mrs. Beakley...Hmm...), who was in the original show but only in a smaller role.
There will be other familiar faces in the show, including Launchpad McQuack and some other folks--er, ducks. Season one of the reboot will feature twenty-one episodes and two one-hour specials. So practice your swan dives and get ready for some globe-trotting adventure you can share with YOUR kids this time around!
