Since Westworld premiered on HBO on October 2, the show has taken cable television by storm, attracting an average gross audience of 11.7 million viewers to date. This means it is outperforming Game of Thrones at the same time in that show's first season. And now HBO has just announced they will be renewing Westworld for another season!
Based on a 1973 film written by Michael Crichton, Westworld is a drama with a setting the intersects the near future and a reimagined past, about the advent of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. What if it were possible for people to explore their every whim and appetite, no matter how messed up, noble, or depraved? Westworld explores these ideas and more. Vanity Fair calls the show "a rare kind of truly transporting television," and millions of viewers agree.
Want to check the show out? You can watch it on HBO or one of the HBO apps!
